Buddhist Temple
The Buddhist Temple ‘Fo Guang Shan He Hwa’ (Buddha Light Mountain) was built in 2000. An abbot and four nuns live here and manage this beautiful building. The women have dedicated themselves to Fo Guang Shan, a new branch of Zen Buddhism. The temple is devoted to Guan Yin, a female Buddha. Her name means: ‘the wise one full of mercy’. Her statue can be admired in the public area of the temple. Feel free to take a look but please remain silent. IndividualGuided tours for individuals or small groups are given on Saturdays at 2.00, 3.00 and 4 pm and last about 30 minutes. An appointment is not necessary. |
