In de Waag is the main issue point for the guide “The old Amsterdam route”. You can pick up your guide here any time as the restaurant is opened 7 days a week from 10 am to 11 pm. Start with a cup of coffee or a lunch and then discover the old town. In de Waag is located only 8 walking minutes from Central Station and is therefore the perfect starting point for your walk through the old city!

Amsterdam Museum (Kalverstraat 92)

Pick up the guide at the reception of the museum. On presentation of the guide you will also get a 25% discount on the entrance fee of the museum! Visit the Amsterdam Historical Museum before your walk through the old town. The Museum tells the fascinating story of the growth and blossom of Amsterdam and exhibits the oldest map of the city, dating from 1538. In the old town mediaeval Amsterdam is still apparent on various places. A replica of the oldest map has been donated by the Amsterdam Historical Museum to the restaurant-café In de Waag, located in a former city port dating from 1488. This port is also indicated on the map from 1538, which you can admire in de restaurant.
